This policy explains what we collect when you visit startautomate.ai, fill in one of our forms or talk to us in the chat window, what we do with it, which other companies handle it for us, and how you can see, correct or delete what we hold about you.
Who runs this website
StartAutomate.ai is run by Rajat Kumar and Akshay Malhotra, a remote team based in Dehradun, India, and post reaches us at Plot 30, Green View Estate, Kulhan, Chalang, near IT Park, Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun, Uttarakhand 248013, India. The two of us decide how the personal data described on this page is used, which makes us the data controllers under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR.
You can write to us about anything on this page at info@startautomate.ai, and a person reads that inbox and usually replies within one business day.
Information you give us
The contact form on our contact page asks for your email address and nothing else. The longer form that opens from the buttons around the site also asks for your name, your company, a phone number or other way to reach you, and what you would like an AI agent to handle for you, and you can leave every one of those extra fields empty.
If you type into the chat window in the corner of the page, we keep the conversation along with any name or email address you give there. If you email us or ring our number, we keep the email, or the notes we wrote during the call.
Information collected automatically
When cookies are allowed, Google Analytics records which pages you opened, how you arrived, the rough location it works out from your internet connection, and the type of device you were using. Microsoft Clarity records how you scrolled, clicked and moved around a page so we can replay the visit and see where people got stuck, and it hides anything you type into a form field before the recording leaves your browser.
Vercel, the company that hosts the site, keeps short-lived server logs of each request, including your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for, which it uses to keep the site running and to stop attacks. The Cookie Policy lists every cookie by name, and explains how to refuse the ones that are optional.
What we don't collect
We don't take card payments on this website, we don't ask for health, financial or other sensitive details in any of our forms, and we have never bought a list of names or email addresses from anyone. The voice demos on the site are recordings played in your browser, so pressing play sends nothing to us or to any AI service.
Why we use your data
We use what you send us to answer your enquiry, prepare the free plan review you asked for, write a proposal if the project goes ahead, and deliver the work once there is a signed agreement. The legal basis for the enquiry and proposal stage is our legitimate interest in replying to people who contacted us, and for delivery it is the contract with your business.
We use analytics data to see which pages people read and which forms they abandon, and in the UK and the EU we only collect it after you have accepted analytics cookies. We keep invoices and contracts because tax law requires it.
Marketing emails
We don't add anyone to a mailing list because they filled in a form. If we ever start a newsletter, we will ask you to sign up for it separately, and every email we send will carry a link that takes you off the list in one click.
Companies that handle data for us
These companies process personal data on our behalf under their own data processing terms, and none of them is allowed to use it for its own purposes. We don't sell your personal information to anyone.

Transfers outside the UK and EU
We work from India, so when you send us a form, an email or a chat message, the two of us read and answer it from there, and several of the companies above keep their copy of it in the United States. When personal data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension where the company is certified under them, and on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum where it is not.
How long we keep it
We delete an enquiry that didn't turn into a project, along with any chat conversation connected to it, 24 months after we last heard from you. Client contracts, invoices and the emails around them are kept for seven years after the project ends, because tax authorities can ask for them for that long.
Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months, Microsoft Clarity deletes recordings after 30 days, and Vercel's server logs are gone within a few days.
Data inside the agents we build
When we build an AI receptionist or calling agent for a client, the callers it talks to are that client's customers, not ours. The client is the data controller for those calls, and we act as their processor under a written data processing agreement signed before the agent answers its first call. If you spoke to an agent on behalf of a business and want your recording or details removed, contact that business, and we will help them act on it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, stop using it or hand it to you in a format another company can read, and you can withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time from the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Email your request to info@startautomate.ai, and we will answer within one month, or within 45 days if you are a California resident using your rights under the CCPA.
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can fix it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands, the Data Protection Commission in Ireland, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the Data Protection Board of India, or the data protection authority where you live.
Children
This website is for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and if a parent tells us their child has sent us something, we delete it.
Keeping data secure
Every page and form is served over HTTPS, and only the people at StartAutomate.ai who answer enquiries or work on your project can open what you sent. No system is completely secure, so we will not claim ours is, but if a breach puts your data at risk we will tell you, and the regulator where the law requires it, within 72 hours of finding out.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we change the date at the top of the page, and if the change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will email you about it before it takes effect.
