AI Receptionist for Solo Business Owners

You're the owner, the technician and the person who answers the phone, which means it usually rings while you're doing one of the other two jobs. We build an AI receptionist that picks up every call, books the work into your calendar, and sends you a text with the caller's name and reason before you've put your tools down.

Answering calls when you work alone

A solo electrician halfway up a ladder in a customer's hallway can't answer the phone in their pocket, and the caller who reaches voicemail rarely leaves a message when the next electrician on the search results is one tap away. Hiring a receptionist makes no sense for a business of one, and an answering service that takes a message only moves the voicemail somewhere else. So most people who work alone end up returning calls at nine at night, to people who booked somebody else at lunchtime.

How businesses use it

Workflow

Booking jobs from the van

Calls that come in while you're under a sink get answered, the caller's address and problem get written down, and the job goes into your calendar in the first gap after lunch, with a confirmation text already on its way to the customer.

Workflow

Evening calls for coaches and therapists

New clients tend to ring after their own working day ends, which is exactly when you've stopped answering. The agent takes those calls, explains how a first session works and what it costs, and books the free introductory call into next week.

Workflow

Screening sales calls

Nobody who works alone needs a fourth call this week about card machines. The agent asks what the call is about, takes a short message from anyone selling something, and only interrupts you for people who want to pay you.

What we do

What the AI receptionist handles

The agent answers in your business name, finds out what the caller actually needs, checks the calendar you really work from, and books the appointment or site visit into a slot you've left open. It quotes the prices you've given it, explains which towns you're willing to drive to, and tells a caller politely when a job is outside what you do. Anything it can't settle, such as an unhappy customer or a job that needs your judgment, reaches you as a text with the caller's name, number and a two-line summary you can read in the van between jobs.

Why solo owners start with one agent

Our Starter Agent, from $500, covers one agent doing one job, and for most people who work alone that job is the phone. We set it up around the hours you actually work, the calendar you already use and the questions callers ask you every week, and it usually goes live within two to four weeks.

You stay the person clients hire. The agent passes anything personal to you, never pretends to be you, and tells a caller they're speaking to an assistant whenever they ask.

If you get a handful of calls a week, we'll say so on the free plan review, because a good voicemail greeting and a habit of calling back at five might serve you better than anything we could build.

How the build works

Every build follows the same disciplined path, so you always know what happens next and where things stand.

  1. 01

    Map the workflow

We find where work enters, what breaks, and which systems have to stay in sync.

  2. 02

    Build the automation

We implement the logic, AI, approvals, and integrations that remove the manual steps.

  3. 03

    Launch with control

We test the edge cases, document the flow, and hand off a system your team can trust.

Common questions

How much does an AI receptionist cost for a one-person business?

Our Starter Agent starts at $500 for the build, and the exact price depends on how many calendars and tools the agent has to work with. Phone numbers and call minutes are charged by the phone provider at their own rates, and your proposal lists every cost before you pay anything.

Will callers know they're talking to an AI?

The agent answers in your business name with a natural voice, and if a caller asks whether it's a person, it tells them the truth. Most callers care far more about getting booked in than about who did the booking.

Can the agent use the number I already have?

Yes. You can forward your current number to the agent when you're busy or after hours, or we can set up a new local number in the US or the UK that rings the agent directly.

What happens when the agent can't help a caller?

It takes the caller's details and sends you a summary by text or email straight away, and for anything you've marked as urgent it can transfer the call to your mobile while the caller is still on the line.
